Our proprietary recipe also includes-
Castor Oil - Is rich in fatty acids which can penetrate the skin and provide deep hydration. This makes it beneficial for dry, flaky, or dehydrated skin. It contains ricinoleic acid, which has anti-inflammatory properties. This can help soothe irritated, inflamed, or sunburned skin. This oil has been traditionally used to promote wound healing. Its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties may help speed up the healing process.
Rosehip Oil - Rosehip oil is rich in essential fatty acids, including linoleic acid, which deeply hydrates and nourishes the skin. The oil contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds that help soothe and reduce redness, making it beneficial for sensitive or irritated skin. Rosehip oil is also a good source of vitamin A, which promotes collagen production.
Jojoba Oil - Jojoba oil closely resembles the skin's natural oils, making it an excellent moisturizer that penetrates deeply to hydrate and soften the skin. Jojoba oil is hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic, meaning it is unlikely to cause allergic reactions or clog pores. This makes it suitable for all skin types, including sensitive and acne-prone skin. This oil is rich in antioxidants, including vitamin E, which helps protect the skin from free radical damage that can lead to premature aging, wrinkles, and fine lines.
Chamomile Oil - contains azulene and apigenin, which have anti-inflammatory properties. This helps soothe irritated, red, and swollen skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and acne. It is also rich in antioxidants, including polyphenols and flavonoids. These antioxidants protect the skin from free radical damage, which can cause premature aging, wrinkles, and fine lines.
Argan Oil - is rich in vitamin E, fatty acids, and antioxidants, which help to deeply moisturize and hydrate the skin, leaving it soft, supple, and nourished. It helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, stretch marks, and age spots. It's lightweight and non-comedogenic formula is beneficial for conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis. The antioxidants in Argan oil provide some protection from UV damage but NOT to be used as a sunscreen.
How to use: Very little is needed. Rub in well. Always use a dry finger. Tallow can actually break outs on some peoples faces. This may go away in time but if it continues past a few weeks it may be better to use it on other parts of your body that need it. We DO NOT use chemicals or preservatives of any kind so keep out of heat. Can place in fridge if you like to extend shelf life.
Because so little is needed our Shepherds Rest Tallow Salve should last at the very least 6 months or more, that’s less than $10 a month!
